Why are the sales proceeds not withdrawable on the same day?

Modified on Mon, 26 May, 2025 at 11:02 AM

The proceeds from sold shares or closed positions become available for withdrawal only after trade settlement. The settlement cycle for instruments traded on Indian exchanges follows a T+1 schedule, where T represents the trading day. This means your funds become available for withdrawal one business day after the trade.
